Early Life
Neil Armstrong was born on August 5th, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, and was born to Stephen Armstrong and Viola Armstrong with two siblings, June and Dean. Neil attended Blume High School in 1946. Armstrong fell in love with flying when he was 15, and got his license when he was 16. Even before he got his driving license, he practiced flying at the grassy Wapakoneta airfield. Neil joined the navy in 1949, and then later served in Korea in 1951. Neil Armstrong got a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1955, and then he got married to Janet Shearon and had three kids, Eric, Karen, and Mark.
